SELECTS APPROPRIATE FORMATIVE ASSESSMENTS TO MONITOR STUDENT LEARNING
FOR FEAP 1D I INCORPORATED FORMATIVE ASSESSMENTS TO MONITOR STUDENT LEARNING THROUGHOUT THE LESSON. I USED TPR TO ASSESS HOW STUDENTS WERE UNDERSTANDING INEQUALITY SYMBOLS IN FIRST GRADE MATH. I HAD STUDENTS STAND FOR WHICH SYMBOL THEY BELIEVED COMPLETED THE INEQUALITY CORRECTLY. THEN, I HAD STUDENTS EXPLAIN THEIR THINKING IN TERMS OF TENS AND ONES.

HERE YOU CAN SEE HOW MOST OF THE STUDENTS ARE STANDING AT ONCE. I CONTINUED THIS STRATEGY UNTIL A MAJORITY OF STUDENTS WERE STANDING FOR THE CORRECT SYMBOL AND ABLE TO EXPLAIN THEIR THINKING. THEN, I PUT THEM IN SMALL GROUPS.
FOR THIS FEAP I ALSO USED EXIT TICKETS DURING SMALL-GROUP ROTATIONS TO SEE HOW STUDENTS WERE DOING WITH MULTIPLE STRATEGIES.
