I have demonstrated FEAP 3e in my final internship during math instruction. With advanced first-graders, I frequently sought out opportunities to relate math content to real-world experiences. This helped develop their conceptual understanding and enrich their learning. Specifically, I did this with our geometry unit. Students searched for two-dimensional shapes in objects around the classroom, or other items they could think of. This helped them understand how shapes are a part of our everyday lives.
